This is the iconographic prototype of the medieval representation of Saint Christopher and the infant Jesus. Dated by Constantinian coins found on top of it. Hermes, identified by his winged hat and sandals and herald's staff, carries baby Dionysos (halo around his head, seated on the cloak of Hermes) toward the nymphs of Nysa and safety.
